Court applications

A debt-review court application is a chain of procedural steps.

NVD’s published services list the components clearly: proposal, application drafting, affidavits, court allocation, service, filing, set-down, appearance and court order.

Application workflow

The file, step by step.

This is a service explanation, not a promise that every matter will follow exactly the same sequence. Opposed matters and different forums may require additional work.

01

Instruction received

Debt counsellor proposal, consumer particulars, creditor information and relevant supporting documents.

02

Application drafted

Founding papers and supporting affidavits/notices are prepared for the matter.

03

Issued / allocated

Case number and court-date administration is handled as applicable.

04

Served & filed

Required parties receive the papers and proof of service is prepared/filed.

05

Set down

The matter is prepared for hearing, including any replies or additional process.

06

Appearance & order

Attorney appearance and follow-through on the resulting order where required.

What to send

A better instruction pack means less back-and-forth.

For an initial enquiry, do not send ID numbers or full bank records through the website. First establish what NVD needs for the specific matter.

  • Debt-review status and current stage
